About Nicole is Here
Nicole is Here is a digital platform rooted in intersectional feminism, Black liberation, and anti-racism—created to explore the realities of womanhood and femininity in contemporary society through storytelling and commentary grounded in research and lived experience.
Launched in 2020, the blog examines the complexities of race and gender in America, challenges limiting tropes about women of color, and unapologetically celebrates the beauty, power, and sensuality of Black femmes.
Creator and native Houstonian Nicole B. is an editor and writer with a background in journalism and political science from the University of Houston and over a decade of experience in communications. A cat mom, news junkie, and live music addict, she is deeply passionate about social justice and pop culture, using storytelling grounded in research and lived experience to uplift historically marginalized communities and spark thoughtful, necessary conversations.
When she’s not writing, Nicole can usually be found at a concert (Beyoncé and Evanescence forever), cheering on her hometown teams (Go ’Stros), keeping up with political news, or spending time with her longtime cat son, Halo.
